Tsuchiya Tao and Katayose Ryota's Journey

The Beginning

    Tsuchiya Tao and Katayose Ryota co-starred in the live adaptation of Yagami Rina's manga, "Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu" (My Brother Loves Me Too Much) back in the year 2017, they were 22 and 23 respectively that time. The franchise is compose of 5 mini episodes with 20 minutes per episodes and then followed by a movie.

    Below are some of my personal favorite behind the scenes moments including the movie promotions time, that gives me butterflies while watching them:

  • Ryota understands Tao's language and her tennen side (absent-minded/clumsy), he's always there to the rescue saying "daijoubu, daijoubu".

  • They are the happiest when they share some snacks during filming breaks. Both are a total foodie.
  • Tao revealed that she was captivated by Ryota's hand movement (pertaining to the scene where Onii saw Setoka walking around the house with her towel).
  • While playing around, Tao noticed Ryota's abdominal muscle saying it was firm and he must've exercised diligently.

Shibuya Noto and more Fes2021: Reunion on screen

    Tsuchiya Tao was chosen to be the MC of NHK's Shibuya Noto and more Fes2021 subsequently, GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE was also on the same show for a performance. 

    For the record, this was the closest on-screen reunion of the two, 4 years after their movie. Tao posted some pictures with her brothers-in-law and Ryota on her official Instagram account.

January 1, 2023 Big Announcement

    Tao and Ryota surprised the whole nation of their joint marriage announcement via Instagram. The couple also revealed that they are expecting their first child.  

"Since we first met, during all these years, we have continued to help and support each other with much respect, stimulating each other throughout various milestones as individual artists."
"With advice from our seniors, we have been making preparations for our marriage. At the end of last year, in the midst of all of this, we discovered and are blessed that a new life has been brought to us."
 
    Sponichi tabloid reported that both of them are seeing each other behind close doors for almost 5 years (started around 2017-2018), but they rarely go out together, instead it was with a group of people.

  • Ryota went to Tao's "The Miracle of Pinocchio" stage play to support her, apparently there is a photo of them together with a fan but the OP deleted it (so I won't post it either, gomen ne).

    Thank you so much for writing this blog about them. I do really appreciate it because they have rare interaction after their marriage, but I know that they are doing fine together as a couple and as a family (cause their first baby will be born soon...) Honestly, they're my first "reel to real" ship. After watching anikoma, I was really captivated by their chemistry both onscreen and offcam and started manifesting that they would date in real life (and it did happened!). ^⁠_⁠^
    By the way, you can also add about them wearing their couple ring on public (I think it was Ryota's IG live) and about the customized necklace that Tao wore? (I'm not sure, but the necklace has their names on it?)

    Thank you so much for writing this article! It is nicely written and you have summarized their "story" well. :) Thank you for the shoutout too! I wish I could sub more videos for them but I have been really busy with my job and private life (with two sons) in recent years.

    Ryota and Tao are not only the first couple that I have been rooting for that turned out to be real, they are also the couple I have put the most time and effort to support. So I was really happy when I saw their announcement! I wish them a happy marriage and safe delivery of their first child. Based on their earlier interviews we can expect them to have at least 2-3 children.
